Optical Fibre
Blown Fibre
NCNS Engineers are fully trained in the installation of Multimode fibre optics such as OM1, OM2, OM3 and OM4 which use 62.5/125 or 50/125 micron fibre. Also Singlemode fibre optics such as OS1 or OS2 which use 8/125 micron fibre. Fujikura fusion splicers are used to splice factory polished pigtails with either ST, SC, LC, FC, MT-RJ or E2000 presentation.
Air blown fibre is a method of installing fibre cables that relies on the flow of compressed air easing the fibre all the way to its destination - sometimes over 1km away. A set of rollers or caterpillar drive typically drives the fibre into the micro duct. Ideally suited to the access network or campus type environments a low cost micro duct is installed, and fibre only added when needed, creating a fibre lean solution.
